What you should consider before buying furniture today.

The journey is always just different. You could have put down the tools of construction after some time putting brick to brick. Turning cement, sand, bricks and so on into your dream house. Or you could have gone the easy way, look for someone who has put the tools down and slap them a cheque.

Or you could still be renting, fighting your way with the landlord's rules. Like don't cook something good without paying rent first.

Either way after the real estate agents have deleted your number from their phone book. What's next? It's time to turn the house into a home! Buy this, replace that and figure out what is needed. It is the move-in-rush-hour. But wait a minute, when was the last time I bought furniture, is there anything I need to know. Well here are 6.

1. Space

My number one would be this, before you match out with confidence to come back with the sofa of your dreams. First find out what space are u dealing with. Ask yourself what can fit it. Can an L sofa really fit here and leave space for walking around? You don’t want to create a prison for your family. For example buying a six-sitter dining table for your one-room rental. Are you going to sleep on the table?

Are you going to sleep on the table!

You can use a tape measure to find out the space you are dealing with.
pull the tools out again!

Start by taking the real measurements of the room. You can get a tape measure or use strings. Determine what can fit in the space. You can visit your local carpenter or chat with us and ask what are the measurements of any piece. The key is to plan before anything you may regret happens. You can even pull out your paper and draw a little sketch.

2. Design and style

Most of us put in a lot when it comes to setting up rooms for mostly two reasons; leave guests wowing or simply comfort. We all wish to arrive home from a busy day and just heavily breath in and say, " Am home!". There are different tones you can use to say this but the one that defines peace and safety is the one am looking for.

In sense you can’t just throw out a collection of several pieces of furniture and hope for the best, this does not work out most of the time. It's like preparing to travel, make a list and throw things into the suit case. Style is just the order of furniture. How the sofas, table and TV stand and the rug or carpet are going to be organized. In a circle around the table or? You have to have considerable thought to how everything is going to fit in the big picture. Are things going to rhyme? In simple terms, is the eye going to love it. Here is an article that can help you

3. Kids

You may be wondering why these cute gentle creatures are making it to the list, don’t be fooled by their looks. Kids are responsible for several furniture fails in the entire world. Imagine having to explain to your guests how Joan, your daughter, was painting last week and decided to redecorate the sofa red.

Having children can be a little difficult keeping furniture clean.
I call them explorers

If you have kids then the color is definitely something to think about through the night. Bright furniture does not agree with these explorers. l know what you are thinking now; brown, black, browner and blacker. That not what I was talking about. You don't want to turn your house into a meeting place for the dark side. You can go for easy-to-clean materials. Or you can become one of those parents. Hey John, those sofas are only for guests.

4. Complementing furniture

Believe it or not but some things don’t look great on their own but in the presence of other. Even some furniture pieces need to be bought with others. For example most sofa require particular table to complement them.

now that's is what am talking about.

When I was young, my teacher used to call a collection of clothes with similar colors a "combine". Lets face it, no one buys all your pieces from one person. In cases, we jump from carpenter to carpenter. Buying a sofa from A and a coffee table from B. And end up creating a mess. So when buying furniture think about what you have home and and the one you are going to buy.

5. Wall color and lighting

Bulbs come in a ray of colors but mostly warm brown and normal white. If I could rush into construction for a minute, the possibility of colors is endless. Just go to a hardware and ask for the number of possible colors you can apply on your walls or visit the plascon official website. What you can apply to your walls is endless.

The furniture you decide to bring home should have colors that don't fight with the paint. Ask experts and even friends what will look great in your rooms.

6. Budget

Piggy bank. You need money dah!
money talk

I saved this for the last, forget everything I just said ( at your own risk) but the most important of all is the budget. Don't wait for me to define money because if you look around you, you can see money that was spent. Or, in your wallet, money that is about to be spent.

Your budget will deduce the quality to enter your home, and the look and feel of your home. It is important to plan carefully the stack of cash you are having to fit your pockets and not end you in jail or worse. Make sure you clearly know the prices before you go waving your money in the air.
